Praise Report

Update January 18, 2012
First service is scheduled for tonight! Alot has come together in the last week or so and we are thrilled to be getting ready for tonight. We hope to have some visitors, but most of all, we desire the Presence of the Lord to be in our midst. Thank you for your continued prayers for this ministry. We need the Lord's help -- without HIM, we can do nothing. See January Slideshow for more pictures!

Update January 10, 2012
More great progress to report! We have finally received all the necessary permits and approval to begin work on the interior of the building. The work crew began today to add the additional required exit door. We had a tremendous suprise blessing a few weeks ago. A talented and generous friend from here in Montana built and delivered a pulpit and offeratory table for the church! Pray that the Lord will bless him! Also, the chairs arrived today for the sanctuary and the song books should be here by the first of next week. We have scheduled the first Bible Study Service for this coming Wednesday night, January 18. The first Sunday service is tentatively scheduled for February 6. We still have ALOT of work to do before then, but praise the Lord for all He has done!

Update: December 5, 2011
Praise the Lord!!! The lease is signed! The Lord has definitely been working on our behalf in the last week. The City of Bozeman granted us approval to change the use of the building; they have approved the cosmetic changes that we requested; and they are reviewing the changes from the construction standpoint. Fire code is requiring another exit to be installed before we can get our occupancy permit, but we plan to start working on that as soon as we get the final green light from City Planning. Check out November's slideshow for a few pictures of the building.

Update: October 21, 2011

Thank you all for your prayers for us as we have been getting settled. We have been working on getting a lease signed on a building in which we hope to start services soon. There have been some zoning and code issues and we are currently still awaiting approval from the City of Bozeman. If everything goes through, we will post pictures of the building soon! The building owner has been so kind and helpful and is glad to see a church going into his building. Please pray that the Lord will continue to work everything according to his will and grant us patience during this waiting period. We have also made several more contacts with people that we are praying for - some expressing a definite interest in attending services. Thank you for continuing to pray that the Lord will soften hearts, save souls and change lives. We have posted a few new pictures, so please check out the slideshows. We have enjoyed alot of company in the last few weeks. Fellowship with God's people is such a blessing!

Update: August 29, 2011

The Lord has graciously brought us safely to the city of Bozeman and we are thrilled to be in the place where the Lord has called our family to serve.  It was my privilege to be ordained into the gospel ministry on July 1 at our sending church, Mayfield Creek Baptist Church in Cunningham, KY. I want to sincerely thank each of the men of God who came to this service. It was a blessing and an honor that I will never forget. It is my prayer that the Lord will enable me to be faithful to him all the days of my life.

We were able to get moved the week following Ordination. It has taken a few weeks to get settled in and we are still learning our way around town. We have been able to meet many people during this process – some expressing an interest in attending the church. I have had some rather unique opportunities to witness and even preach to some receptive people here. Our southern accent has actually been an advantage by opening many, many doors to tell about why we are here. (We can’t get three words out before someone asks – “So - what brings you to Montana?”!!)

An update on the search for a church building: The building we had pictured in our last prayer letter is no longer available. I called the owner about it the day we arrived in Montana and was told that it had rented out that very day. I consider that an answer from the Lord. We are currently praying about another building nearby which is actually much larger for the same monthly lease price. I have met with the owner twice and am currently dealing with the City of Bozeman on zoning and parking issues to see if this building is suitable and approved for church services. We would appreciate your help in praying that the Lord would lead us definitely in this matter.
